With our Hufford A-7 Stretch Wrap Press we can form many different types and sizes of aluminum extrusions and sheet metal.
This forming process involves stretch wrap forming aluminum extruded shapes and sometimes long, but narrow, aluminum sheet metal over a Stretch form block (SFB) using a hydraulic stretch wrap press commonly known as a Hufford Stretch Press. This process is used to precisely form various extrusions into the contours that comprise the skeleton of an aircraft as well as many other commercial formed extrusion applications. This process is also used to form long narrow aircraft skins and other sheet metal parts that have compound contours.
We design our stretch wrap dies and manufacture them using various materials and methods depending upon the type and configuration of the extrusion or sheet metal part being formed. We also design and manufacture the gripper jaws required to hold the various extrusion shapes during the forming process.
